H.E the Governor Maj. (Rtd) Dr. Dhadho Gaddae Godhana
The Galole Farmers Training Center, located in Tana River County, was a project envisioned by H.E the Governor Maj. (Rtd) Dr. Dhadho Gaddae Godhana. It was funded by the Galole Constituency Development Fund (CDF) from 2007 to 2013. During this period, a 1 km² plot of land was identified at the Boji junction, about 3 kilometers from the airstrip, and allocated to the county's agriculture department. The center was established to provide agricultural education and training to enhance farm productivity and sustainability. Farm structures like hydroponic structure and shed nets have been established on the farm to train farmers. Government projects and programmes in the Department of Agriculture are required to conduct their activities in the center to grow the center. An example of the programmes include; Agriculture Sustainable Development and Support Programme (ASDSP) and the National Agricultural Value Chain Development (NAVCDP). This initiative aims to revamp the center, providing farmers with advanced agricultural techniques and fostering sustainable development and value chain enhancement. All these efforts by partners showcase their goodwill towards promoting food security in Tana River County.
The idea for the training center was well-received, with the current governor, who was the Member of Parliament for Galole constituency at the time, playing a pivotal role in its inception. He believed in refurbishing and operationalizing the center to provide essential training and support to the farming community. His vision included creating a hub for agricultural innovation and knowledge dissemination.
